This course provides the essential concepts and strategic framework for managing information within modern organizations. You will learn how data is created, acquired, organized, stored, distributed, and used to drive efficiency and competitive advantage. The content covers core topics like Business Functions (SCM, CRM, ERP), Networking, Database Management, Data Warehousing, and System Development Life Cycles (SDLC), preparing you to become an informed information resource manager.Ā

This module introduces the core concepts of information, its role in business strategy, and the foundational components required to manage it effectively. We will cover the relationship between data, information, and knowledge; the strategic impact of information systems; major business function systems (SCM, CRM, ERP); and the hardware/software infrastructure.

Module 2: Infrastructure & Data Architecture
This module dives into the technological backbone of modern information management, covering networking essentials, the principles of database design, data warehousing, and the critical components that enable the Web-Enabled Enterprise.

Module 3: Advanced Intelligence and Development
This module explores systems that support high-level organizational decision-making, including Business Intelligence and Expert Systems, and then introduces the foundational concepts of system development and planning.

Module 4: System Planning and Development
The complete System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), traditional and agile development methods, analysis, design, and implementation strategies.
